I’ve yet to settle down to The Essex Serpent or The Sandman (the first volume, anyway) but having enjoyed the first series of Good Omens I’m interested to see what new concepts Gaiman has introduced for the second.

Nice and interesting list. I can’t wait to watch season 2 of Good Omen and Shining Girl is on my current watch list. Although I’ll probably end up watching them anyway (peer pressure), I’m not too excited about the GOT and Lord of the Ring prequel series. There are just so many better fantasy series with representation and diverse characters that deserve to be put on the little or big screen…

Have a great week 🌈

Wow! These sound really good, although I must admit that I’d have preferred GRRM to simply finish writing the book series over starting a new television series. Especially with the way the GoT show let viewers down with the last season.

I haven’t read the Daisy Jones book… so hoping to take the shortcut and watch the movie first. 😂 It had better be a good adaptation!

I loved S1 of Good Omens. I’m so excited for S2. I really want to watch The Essex Serpent just for the sheer fact that Tom Hiddleston is one of the main people. 🙂

I am very curious about the Dragon one. I was not a fan of the show even though I’m a big Game of Thrones fan, so we’ll see. The Amazon LotR prequel I’m actually really excited about- cautiously optimistic- even though I know many are expecting a train wreck. Daisy Jones is another one I’m excited about!

People are expecting LOTR prequel to be a train wreck? Why??? 🙁 As for Game of Thrones, after that very rushed and terrible last season, I’m going to take House of Dragons with a huge pinch of salt.

Exactly. I’m kind of in the minority in that I didn’t like the entire GoT show- I’m not even sure why, I just felt like they glorified the violence and sexual content at the expense of some of the series’ other possibilities (and I know Martin is heavy on the violence and sexual content, but I still felt that way). Most people love the show though even if the ending was… weird and rushed. I know I’m in the minority 🙂

Anywho… Amazon’s show. Seems like I’ve seen a lot of negativity towards it but I’m not sure why? Maye partly because it’s amazon?

You know, I actually went back and rewatched some trailers/ Youtube videos on this after your comment. And I have to say… the scenes look way too “computerized”/ artificial? I feel like the CGI might let us down, but let’s see. I am going to wait for the entire season to come out and then binge watch.

I hear you on GOT too – it was very clear that sensationalizing the show was the producers’ way of making money. Though I could have lived with all of that had the plot in those last 2 seasons just not gone berserk like that. 🙁

I didn’t even realize most of these were being made into shows. I’m so out of the loop with anything on the screen! I did love Good Omens so I’m excited to see what Aziraphale and Crowley are up to now. I would like to be excited about House of the Dragon but after the dumpster fire that was the last season or two of GoT, I think I’m going to wait to watch until it’s actually completely finished before starting it. My husband and I have seen so many previews for The Rings of Power already that we actually sat down to watch it a month or so ago, thinking it was already out. Imagine our surprise when we realized it isn’t being released until–September is it? I didn’t know that Nimona is going to be (and looks like maybe has already been?) a show! I really liked that graphic novel! I’ll have to look for it. And I love Neil Gaiman but I never could get into Sandman. I feel like such a weirdo when everyone loves it. I might give the show a try though.

Fun list! Thanks for sharing!

I’ve heard that Sandman’s audio adaptation is loads better than the graphic novels, so maybe the show could work where the books could not? Still, I am no huge fan of Sandman, and I would easily recommend Good Omens over it any day — can’t wait!

Let’s wait till it actually releases, maybe you’ll be back on Netflix then! 🙂 Though I can’t say I blame you for cancelling Netflix, there’s not much there that I haven’t watched already or want to watch anymore…

OK — now I am really curious what clue you missed in Magpie Murders! I just started watching it, it’s going a bit too slow for my taste right now…

I’ve watched a couple of these already, The Shining Girls and the Essex Serpent and enjoyed both.
I will defo be watching the LoTR prequel and Sandman – much excitement.
Lynn 😀
