Who is Lexlingua?
Lex is an aspiring pirate masquerading as a lawyer, all-time bibliophile, frequent quote-collector and sometime astrologer. Lexlingua.co is her online armchair for philosophizing about fiction, law, and the future.
Full Disclaimer: Alright, alright, so Lex is no Socrates. And that name “Lexlingua” isn’t fancy either; it’s just Latin hogwash for Lex (the Lawyer) Speaks.
Again, what does Lexlingua write about?
Lex likes to dabble at many things, and it’s quite, quite difficult to downsize her varied interests (ahem, Law of Diminishing Returns). But here’s what you can probably expect:
Book Reviews: Classics, SFF, Detective fiction, and some Non-Fiction
Watchlist Reviews: Mysteries, Humor, Asian dramas, B&W/ foreign films, and animation
Astrology: Ramblings on planetary aspects, retogrades, and other astrological phenomena
Self-Help: Tools to build a happier life from philosophers, lawyers, poets.
Does Lexlingua have a Rating Policy?
It’s going to be a standard scale of 10, but code words below:
10rated: Squee!
Totally awesome. You’ve got to read/ watch this NOW.
9rated: Dazzling
Missed 10-rating by a whisker, but a jolly good investment.
8rated / 7rated: Entertaining
Great fun while it lasted, addictive but not necessarily logical.
6rated / 5rated: Might have been
Likeable enough, but this could have been so much more.
4rated and below: Avoidable
Boring, hackneyed, seen it all before, nothing new in here. Forgettable.
DNF: So Not Impressed
Possibly, it’s not you. Enough said.
Any famous last words?
You who have stumbled into her parlor, welcome, sweet creature (and hope you’ll stay)!
