I think the titles will be self-explanatory, so I am just going to take the easy way out — and post the book covers themselves. Then, let’s choose a favorite!

Yea for Agatha Christie!! So glad you’ve included a few. I was thinking about Dorothy Sayers just this morning. My aunt loved her work. I’ve only read Gaudy Night and didn’t enjoy it all that much. Maybe I should just try another one.

Gaudy Night isn’t a favorite of mine either. For Dorothy Sayers, I’d highly recommend Murder Must Advertise. There’s also an older TV version which was really well done, see if you want to try that!
Five Little Pigs is on my list this week too and I nearly included The Three Musketeers! I need to continue with the Lord Peter Wimsey series – I’ve read a few of them but not that one.
Five Little Pigs is one of my favorite Christie books, and the David Suchet dramatization is so good.
I’m noticing that mysteries (and Christie in particular) seem to be popular this week! Five Little Pigs was one of the Poirot’s I found particularly memorable.
Yes, those mystery authors really do use the numbers a lot, don’t they? Haha.
I love all the awesome covers on Christie books. As a kid I used to love to go to department store bookshelves and they always had some Christies at one in particular. I always thought they looked so evocative and mysterious. 🙂

That’s so true. They really gave some awesome covers to Christie books. I used to deliberate over the covers, I think, more than the plot. 😂

I have read most of these and live not far from The House of the Seven Gables. In fact, a friend just started working there.

Eight Cousins really deserves more spotlight! I loved the sequel Rose in Bloom too — both much more than Little Women, I’ll have to admit.

I’ve read a couple of these, but my favorite is The House of the Seven Gables. Something about Hawthorne’s writing style just appeals to me.
Yes! House of Seven Gables is amazing. I’ve seen a few older dramatizations on YouTube, but they never managed to be as foreboding as the book.
I love the Miracle on 10th Street cover. Agatha Christie sure liked numbered titles, there’ve been a lot of hers this week!

I love all the Agatha Christie titles, they’re simple but there’s always something creepy about them! I should really read 8 Cousins at some point too.

Eight Cousins is marvellous, and I’d also recommend its sequel, Rose in Bloom.
I read the House of Seven Gables in high school. It did not go well and is another reason I think classics can be ruined for students, because though I assume I would see it differently now, I can’t drum up the desire to try it again.

For House of Seven Gables, it’s definitely not a book to read in high school. Too grim, I guess. But the layers became interesting for me as I grew older. I developed a soft spot for Hawthorne when I came to know how we took a risk to start writing after a layoff. So I guess that admiration spills over to liking his books.
The three musketeers was a title I almost used too!

I just read Five Little Pigs this year, and really enjoyed it, but I think my favorite has to be House of Seven Gables!
House of Seven Gables is spine-chilling! A truly great classic.

The only book I know that I’ve read from your list is The Two Towers. I went through a huge Agatha Christie phase as a teen so I may have read those but I’m not sure. Great job listing them in order from 1-10!
Same here, that Christie phase was so wonderful. I used to ransack the school libraries for all her books.
