Ten Changes in Reading Habits

This week’s Top 10 Tuesday has an interesting theme – how our reading habits have changed over time. This actually proved to be a fun walk down memory lane. Let me count the ways, then!

1/ More memoirs

I am getting more inclined towards reading memoirs now. It’s motivation + history + lessons in life, all in one.

2/ Those good old SFF Days

Fantasy Fiction is slowly… very slowly, mind you … is slowly losing its hold on me.

3/ Kill your darlings

I’m no longer afraid that the author will kill her darlings. End those series, people, don’t keep us forever hanging!

4/ Ebooks all the way

I prefer to read ebooks now, for fiction. Paperbacks languish on the shelf.

5/ Young Adult? What’s that?

I am over YA … well, at least by 85%… never say never.

6/ Book Communities!

I look up book recs on fellow blogs, Goodreads… and now on Reddit communities.

7/ Favorite Rabbit Trails

I love reading about the favorite books of my favorite authors (a great way to find recs, as I’ve discovered!).

8/ Mount TBR

I now know that Mount TBR is not to be conquered, but to forever be unreachable *grumbles*

9/ The Dabbler

I read at least 3 different books simultaneously, switching from one to the other as the mood strikes. I never had thought this was possible before!

10/ DNF … is OK

I’m not afraid to DNF books now. Chapter 3 is the magic mark of decision, no exceptions.

So, that’s how my reading habits have changed over time, and I’ve been blogging (on and off) for nearly a decade now. How fare your reading habits?

I don’t pick up YA as much as I used to. I do still own quite a few and there ARE authors I still pick up because I’ve enjoyed their books in the past. Thanks for visiting my list today!

Ah yes, I forgot to talk about #9!!
I had a good laugh for many points here, especially #3, lol.
Reddit communities: any good recommendations of some of these communities – as if I needed more boo recommendations lol
