Thanks Deb! [BTW, think your blog has recently switched over to DISCUS? I’m sorry I wasn’t able to comment there, always have a lot of problems commenting through DISCUS 🙁 ]

Tintin and Capt. Haddock is the best. And I love that version of Robin Hood. 🙂 This is already my favorite post of the day.

I really want to try the October Daye series.

I think we have chatted about October Daye series before? I really think you will like the series, esp. now that you’ve been reading a lot of Urban Fantasy with shape shifters. 🙂

I think you’re right about Merry and Pippin, that was a duo of “equals”. In the Frodo/ Samwise pairing, Frodo definitely lorded it over Samwise a bit…

NOS 2,3, and 5 to 9 — all twosomes familiar to me and all excellent choices, in my humble opinion! There’s also Lyra and Will in His Dark Materials, and Joan Aiken’s Arabel and her raven Mortimer.

An amazing list! There is nothing like a duo of friends in books! I also love the dynamics between Carlos and Ega from Eça de Queirós’s classic The Maias, and, of course, Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson!
