This week’s Top 10 Tuesday prompt asks us to look at βBooks I Love That Were Written Over Ten Years Ago“. Well, pretty much all the books I love were written over ten years ago. So this was easy, but I did try my best to mix up the genres as much as I could.
Do we share any favorites from here?

Hi Lex!
I’ve only read Macbeth…. I need to read more books on my TBR and the classics. I need to start paying attention to my Classics Club list as well!
Hope you are still doing well. Miss seeing you around!

I’ve often thought about reading Crime and Punishment and The Man Who Was Thursday. I love classics, so I thank you for this list.
I haven’t read any of these, but I’d really love to give Lois McMaster Bujold a second try.
You sent way back on some of these – all excellent choices!
The Swiss Family Robinson was excellent!

I haven’t read any of these yet, but I love how you have so many classics on your list!
Shakespeare and Poe for sure! I love their work (and only didn’t include them on my list because I wanted to keep it to books I don’t talk about as much on my blog). I haven’t read Paladin of Souls yet, but it’s on my TBR.

I heartily disliked the Chesterton when I read it, as disappointed as when I first read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, but given that I reappraised the latter recently as being “not bad” I daren’t say never again regarding Thursday! Borges and Poe are great, though I haven’t read EAP for many years now (50? More?). The novella by Verissimo I read recently β https://wp.me/p2oNj1-6pp βhas encouraged me to revisit both soon.
Good idea, Lex. And you found an interesting mix. I have only read two of the books but have heard of most of them. Well done.
Thanks for visiting my TTT this week.
Oh Swiss Family Robinson is SUCH a favorite. I read it on a trip pto Florida as a kid and so it always reminds me of that. π
I agree, this week’s topic was an easy one. I remember watching some of Swiss Family Robinson the movie, but I haven’t read the book!
My Top Ten Tuesday list!
Wow, you’ve got some heavy-duty titles there. Have never attempted Crime & Punishment. Great list of classics. Thanks for the visit.

I’ve only read Macbeth from your list, which is unusual. Love the variety of books on your list this week. π
Great list! And I’ve finally found a fellow lover of Crime and Punishment!
I haven’t read any of these! I fail. lol. I have heard good things about Macbeth though!
I actually haven’t read any of these, but many are on my TBR. I’d especially love to read The Swiss Family Robinson sometime since I loved the movie as a kid. Great list! π
I had a feeling you’d have some Bujold on there, which I fully approve of. I also need to try that Chesterton some time.
Oh, and since the done thing seems to be to link to ours… https://peatlong.wordpress.com/2022/08/16/top-ten-tuesday-books-over-ten-years-old/
Great list! I love Edgar Allen Poe’s works.
I loved The Swiss Family Robinson movie when I was a kid, but I’ve never read the book. I should! Thanks for the reminder π
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

Great list of really interesting books. I only read MacBeth, and I’m really intrigued by Labyrinth. Here is my post: https://herseriallife.com/top-10-books-written-over-ten-years-ago/
Have a nice week π
I’ve always been interested in Wolf Hall but the size has been intimidating to me! I may try the audiobook π

I’ve read Macbeth and quite a few Edgar Allen Poe stories but it’s been ages. Definitely interested in Mantel’s Cromwell trilogy!
Am I the only one who loves The Perilous Gard? I also love her other book, The Sherwood Ring. What a pity she started writing so late in life that she only had time to write two books!
I’ve read Macbeth, Wolf Hall, and skimmed Swiss Family Robinson. I read the book that comes after Wolf Hall but not the third. I knew what was going to happen and was getting too depressed!
Yes for 3 here: Labyrinths, Wolf Hall, and The Man Who Was Thursday.

I just reread The Ghosts of Opalina which reminded me a lot of The Sherwood Ring, albeit not quite as magical.
