In Wilkie Collins’ , there is literally a character dressed in white, a mysterious figure at the heart of this classic Gothic mystery from 1859. A gallery of a few of its book covers below:
My own personal favorite from these is the Vintage Collins edition in the middle row, to the left. I think that cover captures the theme of the mysterious lady seen at night, dressed in all white, very well indeed. This has been a fun Friday Face Off!

I love your choice for this theme. It’s perfect in two ways isn’t it. And this is a book that I loved. I think a reread might be in order in fact.
The vintage cover that you favour is lovely and much nicer than the cover I’m more familiar with which is the third along on the top row.

You chose an excellent book for this week’s theme, Lex:)). I think your choice is a strong contender, but my personal favourite is also a Vintage Collins edition – the very first one on the top row. I think there is something in her stance that is rather sad and as her life becomes so grim, it aptly reflects the book:)). Hmm… Now that you mention it, the fade-out does add a sadness / grimness to the tale. Well spotted!
A great choice for this week’s theme and I really love your favourite, which is a close contender for me. But I prefer the first cover on the top row – another Collins Vintage edition as there is something in the woman’s stance that is rather sad, so reflects the content.
