Great list of complete titles! I always like it when books have long or complete sentences for titles. ๐
Hmm. The longer those titles, the more they seem to cover up. ๐
This TTT is making me smile so much guessing at what’s behind each of these titles. On your list, I’m sorry I’m late, I didn’t want to come speaks to me so much!
Youโve put it so well! And Iโm Sorry Iโm Late is the perfect book for introverts everywhere <3
Great list! I also expected the topic to be a lot more difficult than it turned out to be.
Iโm curious now about how authors choose their book titles!
Always!
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine was on my list, too.
My post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-book-titles-that-are-complete-sentences/
Hi Lex! This was a fun prompt hey! Eleanor Oliphant is the definite winner today. I was also thinking of I know why the cage bird sings, but then I went in a completely different direction.
TTT – The new Mary Higgins Clark in 10 sentences
Ooh, youโre writing about Mary Higgins, fabulous! I always love those TTT spins!
I love how you know instantly “Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine” is completely false even when you don’t know anything about the book. Great picks!
Haha, well said. Oliphant is a popular choice for this TTT!
Great list! I had Eleanor Oliphant on mine when I made a quick list, but somehow forgot to include it when I finally wrote the post. In any case, it’s a great choice. ๐ Death Comes to Pemberley was so good!
Another Pemberley fan! I love that book and that show.
What a fun list!
I had fun exploring titles for this!
I love the variety on the TTT lists this week! Other than Eleanor Oliphant, which I’ve seen on a few lists, there are surprisingly few duplicates. Sorry I’m Late, I Didn’t Want to Come sounds like a book I really need to pick up. I feel that title so much sometimes.
My TTT this week
Sorry Iโm Late is funny and witty, and itโs the perfect gift for all the introverts in your life.
Nice work! This one is brand new to me: We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler
It’s a great book (although a bit painful too), might have been shortlisted or longlisted for the Booker at one time.
I love the title of Sorry Iโm Late, I Didnโt Want to Come. That’s totally something I’d say! It made me laugh ๐
Likewise! The narrator is an introvert who hates going to parties, and tries to think of all kinds of excuses — till one day she decides to just go for it!
Here Be Dragons sounds like my kind of title haha.
It’s on my TBR, but I’ve heard amazing things about it: a comic fantasy!
So much fun! I am familiar with most of your titles, but alas, haven’t read any!!
Too bad I had already something scheduled on my blog for today, that I couldn’t move, and I don’t like publishing twice the same day.
One title I would definitely have listed is The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, which I have read several times and so enjoyed
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter: Now that’s a wonderful addition!
I didn’t participate in this one but have seen several of the lists and there’s been so much variety.
Yes! It was fun going through my Goodreads lists and seeing what could count as full sentences ๐
You found some really good ones! ๐
Some great choices! I couldn’t come up with much for this week’s topic, so I changed it.
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2021/05/18/top-ten-tuesday-316/
It was a hit or miss topic, off to check your post!
Oh yeah! How could I forget “Sorry Iโm Late, I Didnโt Want to Come” by Jessica Pan? Such a great book!
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday list for this week.
Totally agreed, that’s an awesome book ๐
I like PEmberley and We Are All Completely beside Ourselves. Love Is the Drug too and that makes me totally think of the Roxy Music song. ๐
Oh I haven’t heard the Roxy Music song — must check that out. Thanks for the rec!
A great assortment! The only one I have actually read is Eleanor Oliphant which I began reluctantly but ended up really liking.
I don’t know why I have never got into P.D. James and you’d think Death Comes to Pemberley would be right up my alley. I even tried the miniseries, which had an actress from The Bletchley Circle I liked as the heroine, but I felt she was swallowing her lines and was hard to understand, so gave up.
Ooh yes, I think Anna Maxwell Martin is a fabulous actress. I loved her in Bleak House adaptation too. You’re right, she did come across as fairly inaudible in Death Comes to Pemberley, but I remember she improves later and I liked the show overall.
I love toing through these various lists from other bloggers. I also had “I know why the caged bird sings” on my list of potential candidates but there were so many and I knew someone would mention them, so thanks.
My TTT.
It’s really a lovely, haunting title~
Iโve been meaning to get Why the Caged Bird Sings for ages…
