Top Ten TuesdayΒ is a meme hosted by Jana over atΒ That Artsy Reader Girl. Every Tuesday, you pick ten books on that weekβs topic. And this week, we get free room to pick ten reads for the Winter season.
Here are the book covers that made me go Brrr…! with a Sigh this December.
All in all, Winter seems to denote so many things: #Christmas #snow #Rest&Relaxation #forgiveness #the never-ending pursuit of love #Santa Claus #mountainous adventures #gifts #irony #nostalgia #bottled memories #friendships in odd places #fairytales by the fireside #laughter #miracles, and of course, #moments of kindness.
Which bookish things does c
remind you of? Would love to know!

Have you read The Snow Child? It’s excellent!
My post.
Yes, yes! And it helps it has such a great cover too
Dang, Tin Tin, how could I forget Tin Tin? π
Tintin and Snowy <3 <3 <3
I use to love reading these books as a kid. My brothers always got one for Christmas and I’d get to read them afterwards. π
I am pretty sure I read that one! For a while I read Tintin regularly… might be worth a re-visit!
Tintin is my comfort read. Including Destination Moon and Castafiore Emerald
Billions of blue blistering barnacles! π Same here. My brother introduced me to Tintin and Haddock.
Oh Winter π I’d love to re-read that series someday!
True, it is a great series. My favorite is Scarlet, but Winter fit this list the most
These always seem like great wintry reads.
Perfect to get ready for Christmas, eh? Happy TTT
I can’t get over that cover for The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. My copy had a very plain tan cover, so this would make for a definite upgrade!
True, it IS a marvelous cover π
I love The Snow Child! I’d really like to reread it at some point. The Santa Claus book’s cover is amazing! Really great selections — they all look so good together!
It was fun putting the covers together under a common theme. And your comment made me want to re-read Snow Child too… Thanks for visiting, and Merry TTT!
Brrr! These are great wintry covers. Nice list!
Haha, Brr indeed π
Great choices! The Snow Child is one I keep seeing popping up on lists, and I’m very intrigued now…
Yes, it’s based on an old Russian folk tale and is all kinds of awesome. Do give it a try!
Haha- I really enjoy the diversity of this list! What about My Year of Rest and Relaxation reminds you of Winter? That’s the hard one for me to connect to the theme — but the rest make total sense. Love it.
Haha, only that Winter reminds me of bears settling down for hibernation, and nothing must get in the way of that rest — nothing!!
The cover The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus is so cute!
It is, the new cover caught me completely by surprise, and so here it is!
Iβm hopefully going to be reading The Snow Child next year. Itβs sitting on my TBR shelf. Iβm excited to see what the hype is about.
Sigh, the pleasure of discovering Snow Child all over again… π
I’ve been meaning to read The Snow Child for ages! Thanks for the reminder. I’ll try to get to it after Christmas. You’ve got several great books and covers in your post!
Glad you liked them, and I know you’ll like Snow Child!
A Christmas Carol is a classic! I also started the Lunar Chronicles this year but have only read the first book, will have to start reading the rest soon!
The Lunar Chronicles are awesome. I’m always on the lookout for retellings, and Meyer has done a fabulous take on those old fairy tales. Scarlet is my favorite, but Winter and Cress are really good too. Don’t give up on the series till you get to Scarlet!
I’ve read three off your list and loved them. Christmas Carol is one of my favourite seasonal reads.

It IS a classic for all ages. I first read the comic book version that Disney made, and then read a Ladybird illustrated adaptation, and then the original book π It felt brand new, each time around *happy sigh*
I love this post! So nice. I forgot how “snowy” Tintin in Tibet was!
