This week we have a genre freebie for Top 10 Tuesday, and I am going with Top 10 Mythological Fantasy Books. I really do like a plot where the gods get interested in mortal affairs, leading to much chaos β and great world-building.
1 / The Chalion Series / World of the Five Gods series by Lois McMaster Bujold
2 / Inheritance Trilogy by N. K. Jemisin
3 / Paternus Trilogy by Dyrk Ashton
4 / Malazan Book of the FallenΒ Series by Steven Erikson
5 / Edda of Burdens trilogy by Elizabeth Bear
6 / The Queen’s Thief Series by Megan Whalen Turner
7 / Tales of the Magatama Series by Noriko Ogiwara
8 / Indulgence Series by Erin Kellison
9 / The Wicked + The Divine saga by Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie
10 / The Library at Mount CharΒ by Scott Hawkins
Have you read or are you interested any of these mythological fantasy books? Please feel free to leave as many recs as possible too!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a list of mythological fantasy. Well done!
I haven’t read anything like these, though Harry Turtledove had a novel about the gods of ancient Mesopotamia fighting each other through their associated city-states that I was mildly interested in for a while.
Oooh, these look good. Some are on my TBR already, but othersβlike Dragon Sword and Wind Childβare going to get added now. Thanks for the recs!

Oh, this list sounds amazing! I have had the Inheritance trilogy on my TBR for SO long. I hope to get to it one day!
I’m not really into this genre but appreciate the recommendations as my daughter sometimes likes to read it.
I do love a good fantasy…and several of these look amazing! Especially the Steven Erickson and Elizabeth Bear books. π
I love this topic! I have The Library at Mount Char and The Inheritance Trilogy on my TBR, but I’m definitely going to have to look into some more of these. I love the covers of the books on your list, though.
I do enjoy mythological fantasy so I’ll be looking into these! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
I haven’t read any of these but I’ve been meaning to read ALL the N.K. Jemisin forever and I’ll read anything that has the word library in the title.
YES. I love mythological fantasy! I’ve wanted to read The Wicked and the Divine for so long! Those covers for the Indulgence series are insane. I want to get them just for those. Wow! The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms sounds interesting as well. Thank you for all the recommendations π
How have I not rread any of these??
Love that cover of Paladin…
What a great list. I am not into mythological fantasy but if I were I’d have plenty to read.
I’ve only read the first Queen’s Thief book and had forgotten the mythological aspects. Maybe I should continue with the series – I guess I just haven’t been in the mood for fantasy lately.
How about The Way of Kings (The Stormlight Archive, #1) by Brandon Sanderson as a rec?
